Alison and Brad’s fantastic wedding day celebration was held completely at the Troy Marriott Hotel.  I had not met this wonderful couple until their wedding day, but that did not become a hindrance to finding emotional, spontaneous, fun and memorable moments throughout the day!  Their families and friends helped add to the festive and joyful atmosphere.  The celebratory mood of everyone helped enhance the opportunity to capture great photographs.  You will see from the photos how happy and in love this couple are.  Alison has one of the best smiles ever and Brad gave one of the best speeches I have ever heard from a groom!  Another memorable highlight was the beautiful voice of Alison’s mother who sang to the couple during the wedding ceremony.  Also enjoyable, was the band, Skyline and the Backstreet Horns, who kept the dance floor full of life throughout the entire evening.  Enjoy some of their highlight photos below and keep an eye on my blog to see their complete highlight slide show in a few weeks!

Megan and Bryan’s wedding is a story of beautiful couple and their darling baby girl! The day started at Megan’s parents home, where the girls all got ready.  The wedding party convened for the marriage nuptials at nearby St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church.  After completing family and wedding party portraits on the alter, we joined the guests for a festive evening reception at Lyon Oaks Golf Course in Wixom, Michigan.  Megan and Bryan chose several great vendors:  hair and makeup  was done by Bridal Beauty on Location.  The makeup artist was Sylvia Farmer and hair was done by Amanda.  The video and photobooth were done by Emily Huntley and her staff with Mobile Exposures.  Valerie and Jason were the DJ’s from Night and Productions.  Enjoy some of the highlight photos below and please check back to this blog in about a month to see more of this terrific wedding in a slideshow set to music.

All of the details to this wonderful wedding can be found in last month’s blog entry. Enjoy my selected highlights of this day in the slideshow below:

I started the day’s coverage, photographing Maureen and Eric’s wedding day at the location of their ceremony: The Academy of the Sacred Heart in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.  After the beautiful nuptials and wedding portraits on the alter, the wedding party proceeded to Oakland Hills Country Club for the reception celebration of this terrific couple.  Maureen and Eric were surrounded by a fun and happy crowd of good friends and loving families.  We only spent a few moments overlooking the historic 18th hole of the famed golf course for additional portraits, so that the couple could begin enjoying what would become a fantastic reception.  Maureen’s uncle, the iconic Motor City DJ, Ken Calvert, was Master of Ceremony for the evening.  The band, Newsmaker, one of my Detroit area favorites, kept the party going all night long.  One of their trademarks is to hand off the mic to guests for solos, singing to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.”  See the photo below of Maureen and her father giving it their all.  Another terrific surprise, provided by the couple’s wedding party, was the appearance of the mascot “Sparty” from nearby Michigan State University. He came running out and caught the couple in complete surprise. You can see their reaction below! From beginning to end, this was a wonderful day.  I loved that the couple allowed me to be me – not a lot of posed images – just meaningful, artistic, emotional photojournalism.  I will have a beautiful slideshow of the wedding day posted on this blog in about a month or so.

All the details to Carrie and Matt’s wedding can be found in my August, 2009 post. Enjoy the highlight slideshow of this great couple!

I was introduced to Danielle and Bobby over a year ago by my former client, Ana Skidmore, who has since become a successful bridal consultant. Her business is called Two Foot Creative and she helped coordinate this fantastically beautiful wedding which took place in the backyard of Danielle’s parents’ home in Grand Blanc, Michigan. I began the day photographing Danielle and her bridesmaids before driving over to the nearby Fenton United Methodist Church, where their ceremony took place. After the emotional ceremony, Danielle, Bobby, the very talented Kristyn Smyth of Castle Video Production and myself, met at the plush Garden Park of Holly for some fun, romantic photos. My second photographer, Krysti Spence, captured detail photos of the dining area and dance floor in the grand tent, as well as candid photos during the outdoor cocktail hour. The celebration began upon Danielle and Bobby’s arrival, and was revved up by the popular Metro Detroit area band, Rare Blend, who kept the party rocking all night long. Check out the fabulous highlight photos below and be sure to check back here on my blog in about a month for the complete highlight slideshow. Enjoy!

This wedding had it all! Great couple, great moments, great bridal party, great ceremony, great venue, great band! This is how you do it! The highlight slide show says it all! Enjoy!

All the details to Dayna and Michael’s wedding can be found in my July, 2009 post. Enjoy the highlight slideshow of this terrific couple!

Ai and Jacob’s wedding had all the makings of day gone bad because rain put a stop to the planned outdoor ceremony at the very beautiful Orchard Lake Country Club in Orchard Lake, Michigan. I have only had this happen two other times in my career, and one of those times was with the extraordinary wedding coordinator, Carolyn Hefner, of The China Closet in Birmingham, Michigan. Wouldn’t you know it? Carolyn was the coordinator for Ai and Jake’s wedding as well! Once again, Carolyn pulled off the inevitable, and a beautiful wedding took place despite the elements fighting against it. The wedding went forward without hesitation and without flaw! It was a terrific wedding of mixed cultures, as Ai’s family and friends traveled from Japan to attend the big day!

The very best vendors that Michigan offers were selected for the event. They include Alex Bitoff of Fifth and Main Productions; rentals and decor were provided by Special Events Rentals; the Scandinavian String Quartet provided ceremony and cocktail music; a special appearance by some of the members of Joy Ride for music following the ceremony; and the very talented band, Rumplestiltskin, entertained the guests past midnight.

Enjoy some of the highlight photos below and be sure to check out our complete highlight slideshow in about a month, posted here on my blog.

Carrie and Matt’s wedding was a beautiful event of an even more beautiful couple! The day started and ended for us at the picturesque Travis Pointe Country Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan. With some very careful maneuvering, being sure that Carrie and Matt would not accidentally see each other, both myself and my second photographer, Krysti, started with getting ready photos of the couple at the Country Club. The wedding party moved onward to the nearby First United Methodist Church of Saline for the ceremony. After the heart-warming nuptials, I followed the couple to a historic train depot in town where we were able to stage a few photos on the back of an old caboose. Soon after, we joined the guests for a festive evening reception for the newly married couple back at Travis Pointe. Enjoy some of the highlight photos below and please check back to this blog in about a month to see more of this terrific wedding in a slideshow set to music.
