09.05.09 – Alison and Brad – Troy Marriott Hotel, Troy, MI
September 22, 2009Alison and Brad’s fantastic wedding day celebration was held completely at the Troy Marriott Hotel. I had not met this wonderful couple until their wedding day, but that did not become a hindrance to finding emotional, spontaneous, fun and memorable moments throughout the day! Their families and friends helped add to the festive and joyful atmosphere. The celebratory mood of everyone helped enhance the opportunity to capture great photographs. You will see from the photos how happy and in love this couple are. Alison has one of the best smiles ever and Brad gave one of the best speeches I have ever heard from a groom! Another memorable highlight was the beautiful voice of Alison’s mother who sang to the couple during the wedding ceremony. Also enjoyable, was the band, Skyline and the Backstreet Horns, who kept the dance floor full of life throughout the entire evening. Enjoy some of their highlight photos below and keep an eye on my blog to see their complete highlight slide show in a few weeks!
09.04.09 – Megan & Bryan – Lyon Oaks Golf Course, Wixom, MI
September 17, 2009Megan and Bryan’s wedding is a story of beautiful couple and their darling baby girl! The day started at Megan’s parents home, where the girls all got ready. The wedding party convened for the marriage nuptials at nearby St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church. After completing family and wedding party portraits on the alter, we joined the guests for a festive evening reception at Lyon Oaks Golf Course in Wixom, Michigan. Megan and Bryan chose several great vendors: hair and makeup was done by Bridal Beauty on Location. The makeup artist was Sylvia Farmer and hair was done by Amanda. The video and photobooth were done by Emily Huntley and her staff with Mobile Exposures. Valerie and Jason were the DJ’s from Night and Productions. Enjoy some of the highlight photos below and please check back to this blog in about a month to see more of this terrific wedding in a slideshow set to music.
I started the day’s coverage, photographing Maureen and Eric’s wedding day at the location of their ceremony: The Academy of the Sacred Heart in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. After the beautiful nuptials and wedding portraits on the alter, the wedding party proceeded to Oakland Hills Country Club for the reception celebration of this terrific couple. Maureen and Eric were surrounded by a fun and happy crowd of good friends and loving families. We only spent a few moments overlooking the historic 18th hole of the famed golf course for additional portraits, so that the couple could begin enjoying what would become a fantastic reception. Maureen’s uncle, the iconic Motor City DJ, Ken Calvert, was Master of Ceremony for the evening. The band, Newsmaker, one of my Detroit area favorites, kept the party going all night long. One of their trademarks is to hand off the mic to guests for solos, singing to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” See the photo below of Maureen and her father giving it their all. Another terrific surprise, provided by the couple’s wedding party, was the appearance of the mascot “Sparty” from nearby Michigan State University. He came running out and caught the couple in complete surprise. You can see their reaction below! From beginning to end, this was a wonderful day. I loved that the couple allowed me to be me – not a lot of posed images – just meaningful, artistic, emotional photojournalism. I will have a beautiful slideshow of the wedding day posted on this blog in about a month or so.
